What should I do if…

Please block your card(s) immediately and then follow these steps:
  1. Block credit or debit cards anytime 24/7 using Card Management in Online or Mobile Banking or by calling 410-321-6060 or toll-free at 800-903-3328 and listening to the prompts. A replacement card will be ordered automatically.
  2. Review your account activity via Online Banking or Phone Banking.
  3. To report card transactions that you do not recognize or suspect are fraudulent, call 410-321-6060 or toll-free at 800-903-3328 and listen to the prompts. When calling, you may be asked to enter your card number. If you do not know your card number, press 0# to bypass the prompts.
If you have not received your card in the mail, check your mail to ensure your card was not overlooked. For safety, cards ship in plain white envelopes with no First Financial markings.
Please stop payment on the missing checks immediately:
  • Place a stop payment on the check series in Online Banking from the Accounts page.
  • You may also contact us during business hours at 410-321-6060 or toll-free at 800-903-3328 to place the stop payment.
Please follow these steps:
  1. See if you recognize the transaction amount, but not the name. Investigate whether the business submits card transactions under a different name.
  2. Review all recent account activity for any other suspicious transactions.
  3. Inquire about the transactions with family members or others with access to your shared devices and shared online/website accounts.
  4. If you determine the transactions are fraudulent or your card is missing, block your card immediately.   1. Change your passwords from an uninfected computer.
  2. Run a virus scan on your computer and remove any threats that are detected.
  3. Check your account information frequently. If you suspect fraudulent transactions, report them immediately at 410-321-6060 or toll-free at 800-903-3328.
Where the internet has been used to communicate false or fraudulent representations to consumers, involving websites, chat rooms, and/or email, visit the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) to learn more and file a report.
You can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) online at www.ftc.gov. Complaints will help the FTC find and stop people who are using spam to defraud individuals. Also, you can forward scam emails to the FTC’s spam database at spam@uce.gov.

Most inquiries submitted through the Message Center require follow-up by one of our dedicated Operations Department staff members.
