First Financial volunteers spent the morning with 75 Loch Raven High Schoolers and guided them through the twists and turns of life through Adulting 101! This engaging and interactive budgeting simulation is all about making smart financial choices.

In Adulting 101, each student gets a unique “life scenario” that includes a career, salary, family situation, and maybe even some student loans. They then travel through various stations making important budgeting decisions for housing, transportation, childcare (if needed), health insurance, groceries and more.

The First Financial team is there every step of the way, helping the students stick to their budgets and navigate the occasional financial speed bump—just like in real life!

As a credit union committed to education, we believe learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. That’s why we’re dedicated to offering free and fun financial education and resources to the youth in our community. Adulting 101 is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain financial wellness skills they can use now and in the future.
